Work With Me

You know you want something to be different.

You look back at what you dreamed your life would be like when you were a kid, and you thought there would be more than just working hard and falling asleep on the couch watching Netflix …if you only knew what you wanted to do differently.

This is for you if…

:: You’re tired of feeling like what you want is just out of reach.

:: You feel like you were destined for something greater than what you’re doing, but feel stuck as how to find it.

:: You want to wake up feeling excited about your day instead of dreaming about when you’ll be able to get back to bed.

:: You want that SPARK that you see other people have about their lives, and you want it every day instead of just feeling good on weekends and vacation.

:: You drool over other people’s posts about going to yoga or meditating daily, but you have no idea how to make it happen in your own life.

:: You’re ready and willing to change what you’re doing and fall in love with your life.

You want change—and you want it now. No more reading about it, thinking about it, chatting with your friends about it…it’s time.

If you are ready to take action on changing the way you run your life, this is for you. We will have four intensive coaching calls over the course of the month, focusing on the following:

  • Customized Mind, Body & Soul tools, including a 40-day Kundalini kriya, Ayurvedic self-care ritual, and a daily intuitive practice.
  • Customized ritual creation work to facilitate the changes you’re making in your energy body.
  • Multi-faceted mindset work, including physical practices to help integrate the work at a cellular level.
  • Support in implementing the work and creating lasting change.

Now booking for 2018 full-time coaching clients.

Hiring a coach to work one-on-one is a big decision, and I always want my clients to feel like they’ve made that decision because they’re ready, because it’s what they need, and because we’re a good fit to work together. To ensure this happens, I require a brief call before I send you a contract or invoice for services, to make sure things are a good fit on both sides.

FAQ

What is your refund policy?

No refunds. Period & Amen. My terms and conditions are here. I require a free discovery call of everyone I work with 1:1, to make sure things are a good fit on both sides, and I’m happy to refer you to someone else if what I offer isn’t a fit for your needs. There are no refunds on digital products, but I’m happy to answer any questions you have before you buy them.

Do the eCourses have to be finished by a certain date?

No, all of the digital content is yours to keep, though if there is a live component (i.e. live calls or a Facebook group) those portions may be time-specific.

Do I have to believe in all sorts of woo-woo stuff to do meditation and intuitive work?

Nope. If you can sit quietly, you can meditate. If you’re willing to notice to how something feels instead of just looking at the external facts about it, you can use your intuition.

About Kate

Hey there!

When I’m not meeting with clients, (or feeding ostriches) I love storytelling, sooo…

Once upon a time…this was me: I was managing editor of a popular yoga magazine, running my massage and wellness practice, taking care of my two kids…and running myself into the ground.

I felt like if I was going to make a difference in the world with my work, be successful, and be a good mom, how I wanted (and needed) to feel should come second. What I learned the hard way is that this is 100% unsustainable, unhealthy, unproductive—and it’s also 100% untrue.

Whenever self-care comes up in a conversation (especially with my fellow superwomen…) I hear people talk about things like taking a bath, making time for exercise, or maybe getting a pedicure. And the attitude is also that self-care habits are the icing on the cake…something you do to reward yourself once all the work is done.

Rewards are awesome—and I’m a huge fan of icing—but that isn’t what self-care is at all.

Self-care is the fundamental practice of nurturing your soul.

It’s not the end-of-the-day treat; it’s the rocket fuel that keeps you rocking to GET everything done without burning out in the process.

99% of what you read about self-care omits the “self” piece, and gives you another list of “shoulds” to deal with.

I’m the 1% who will teach you what actually works.

Who am I, anyway?

I am a soul self-care coach.

I have trained in holistic stress management, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, energy medicine, Kundalini yoga & meditation, Ayurveda, Western Massage, Acupressure, and Shiatsu. I have a B.A. in Psychology and English; I also have a background in teaching creative writing and journaling, and will often suggest creative outlets as part of our work process.

I’m a single mom to two amazing kids (and a bunch of wonderful fur-babies).

I’m a breast cancer survivor.

I believe.

I love my friends and family fiercely.

(I also love alliteration. And parentheses.)

I also write for The Huffington Post, Mantra Yoga+ Health Magazine, Be You Media Group, Yoga International, Thought Catalog, The Tattooed Buddha, a beauty full mind, elephant journal, The Good Men Project, The Green Divas, Beliefnet, The Body Department, Project Eve, and Soulseeds.

My books, Heart Medicine  and Choose Joy: A Year of Creating the Extraordinary in Everyday Life are available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.com.

I am passionate about helping people fall in love with their lives.

And this is my little corner of the Internet where I like to tell stories, give sisterly advice and connect with people who are ready for a change.

If you are ready to feel goosebumpy pleasure about your daily life NOW instead of postponing your joy yet again, let’s schedule a time to chat.

What is Self-Care?

Are you tired of feeling like crap yet?

83% of people reading this are scrolling through on their iPhones instead of being present with what’s currently going on. If you’re reading this while you’re on the run, bored as hell, or half-in/half-out of this week’s Grey’s Anatomy because it looked interesting and just might be the golden ticket to not feeling so exhausted and grumpy, read on!

I know how it is. It seems like your options are “stuck in a rut” or “hustling until you burn out.”

But life doesn’t have to be that way.

What if I told you that you can let go of struggling and take simple steps to find passion in your life?

Or that putting yourself last and postponing the things that bring you joy is the opposite of what you need to do to be successful?

Or that trying one more detox, one more lifestyle makeover, one more challenge isn’t going to get you any closer to feeling good…and might actually make things worse?

Or that trying to stick to a set of rules by willpower isn’t sustainable long term, and that embracing habits that make you feel good is more likely to be successful?

I want to teach you how to create epic calm and a pleasure-filled life.

It starts with being present.

Finding your breath.

And learning that you are enough, just as you are right now.

It starts with self-care for your soul.

Testimonials

“A few months ago, I was crazy struggling. Even though my first company’s main mission was to encourage women to take time for self care… even though I host a group called The Self-Care Revolution… even though I lost nearly a year of my life to debilitating anxiety that stemmed in a lack of self care… I wasn’t doing the work. I knew what I had to do, or at least some of it, but I let myself get swept up in the grind, and I was tanking. I wasn’t sleeping, I was hyper emotional, my anxiety was creeping back in. And while I knew there were things to do, I wasn’t doing them, and I wasn’t asking for help.
I spent the month of March working with Kate. Talking through the things that stressed me, coming up with actionable steps that I could take (that weren’t big and daunting, which would’ve been impossible) to shift gears back into my self-care routine. She helped me create a morning ritual that nourishes me still, and helped me give myself permission for some spaciousness in my schedule. There was reflection, forgiveness, and all done from this place of loving support, without judgment.
We all need a Kate in our lives. Someone to remind us of our light when we think we’ve lost our way. “

~ Seryna Myers, Seryna Myers Creative

“The last 6 months have been a really struggle: I did a 180-degree turnabout in my career goals, had health problems, been horribly on edge and some really old junky stuff came up which turned me into more of a gremlin than I usually am.
I think that if you’ve had really big, painful, troubled emotional stuff to deal with, part of it will probably stay with you the rest of your life, so I’ll always be at least a little bit of a mess. But I’ve been trying to do a lot of hard, grubby, tear-filled work in the last few months and get myself ‘un-stuck’. I still have lots and lots to do, but I’m really pleased about getting to a point where I’ve finished a huge bulk of work that I’ve had a tough time with, am waking up early, feeling really energetic, productive and joyful, discovering loads of new ideas for my research, writing and yoga, and have started a new fitness and nutrition programme after about 15 years of living in really junky ways that vacillated between being overly controlling or losing all control.
A big, BIG part of helping me find this flow again and breaking through the ‘stuckness’ has been working with the incredible Kate Bartolotta, both in her In The Flow programme and with one-on-one coaching. I am bowled over by her kindness, her big heart and her huge passion for helping you find your groove. I wish more teachers were like this with this real care that the other person rocks their best self.
I highly recommend working with Kate for anyone wanting a boost, and extra love for getting where you want to be, so you can be just as maddeningly chirpy and happy as I am these days.”

~ Jamie Khoo, writer & Ph.D. candidate

“I had long been a fan of Kate’s writing and insight and felt that when I was ready to pull the trigger on hiring a coach, there was never another option for me. Leading up to our work together I was going through a number of major life changes, felt an overall sense of being out of sorts and was looking for some help with which direction to turn.
Kate immediately got me thinking along the lines of distilling down what I was actually after out of life through dialogue and different exercises, and then helped me form tangible steps to head in that direction. Throughout the process, I not only gained a clearer perspective of which direction I was heading, I learned a lot about myself in the process.
I never once felt rushed or like I was just a number to her. You can feel Kate genuinely cares about her clients and their wellbeing. If you are ready to do the work and invest in yourself I would highly recommend seeing if Kate is a good fit. I consider the clarity I gained from our work together invaluable.”

~ Jeremy Kottler, entrepreneur

“Kate is outstanding to work with. She is insightful and extremely intelligent and knowledgeable.  I’ve always been impressed with how she manages to infuse kindness and frankness together.

It’s been a joy to work with Kate in every capacity that I have. I am not necessarily easy to work with, and she doesn’t make me feel “difficult”, and I owe much of my current success to her.”

~ Jennifer White, author
